Is PIP means tested?
No. PIP isn't affected by your income or savings, and it's tax free. You can get it while working, and alongside almost every other benefit.

What PIP depends on instead
PIP is based on how your condition affects you: how difficult you find everyday tasks and getting around, whether you can do them safely, and how long they take you. DWP scores that on 12 activities, and the score decides whether you get the daily living part, the mobility part or both, and at which rate. The PIP points calculator shows how the descriptors add up.
In 2026/27 that's between £30.30 and £194.60 a week, the same for everyone on the same rates. The full table is on how much is PIP.

Working, savings and other benefits
You can get PIP if you're working or have savings. Since 30 April 2026, the regulations say that doing paid or voluntary work isn't a reason for DWP to look at your award again.
You can get PIP at the same time as all other benefits, except Armed Forces Independence Payment. If you get Constant Attendance Allowance you get less of the daily living part, and War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement means no mobility part.
